since the early 80ies active as co-founder, as pianist/composer/conductor in various ensembles with international concert activities, among those are: “Nouvelle Cuisine” Bigband and the “Janus” Ensemble.

His artistic work includes music as well for chamber music ensembles as for big symphonic conceptions.

1996: „Aus allen Blüten Bitternis“, Opera about Stefan Zweig premiered at Wiener Kammeroper;
1998 „Requiem für einen lebenden Toten“ in the frame of the Brucknerfestes Linz;
1999 „Tripelkonzert“ for the Wiener Klaviertrio and the Camerata Bregenz in the big hall of Musikverein Vienna;
2004 „IO“, Orchestra composition for the inauguration of the Brucknerfestes Linz, in this year also “artist in residence” at Brucknerhaus Linz;
2005: „Orfeo“ after the original composition by C.Monteverdi, produced by Neue Oper Wien;
2008: Hofkirche Innsbruck: premiere of „Missa“ for the Tiroler Festspiele Erl
Current Projects: cultural capital Linz 09: Cantata „Ida und Jim“, collaboration at „Holz und Blech“.
2010: artist in residence for “Musik aktuell”, Lower Austria

1998 - 2005 Christoph Cech was teaching harmony and counterpoint at the University for Music and Performin Arts Vienna, since 1999 he is teaching at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz as director of the institute for jazz and improvised music des Instituts, since 2004 also habilitation as professor in the subject of jazz composition.
